Based in Lusk, Co. Dublin, The Toy Barn is a company setup in mid-2005 that sells a variety of children's toys. The company is also the exclusive Irish distributor of the Po-Knee.
The Toy Barn is an entirely online based merchant, so it was Abecto Design's responsibility to create a website that met their requirements both visually and functionally.
Based on the target audience and theme of the site, Abecto created a very colourful, cartoon style logo and design. This design presented some unique challenges from a frontend coding perspective, but it was implemented without sacrificing accessibility or standards compliance.
The backend development of the website involved the creation of a bespoke content-management system enabling the client to add new products and update existing ones.
A shopping cart system was implemented to allow for the purchase of products, with transactions completed through PayPal, ensuring payments are securely encrypted and customers can make their Toy Barn purchases with confidence.
